The Amateur Organization of Karate (AOK) is a non-profit organization, whose
purpose
includes providing
standardized rules for amateur tournament competition that:
Insure
the safety of competitors.
Eliminate
competitor confusion.
Encourage
participants to develop a wide variety of techniques and improve physical
conditioning.
Encourage
sportsmanship and a good attitude toward competition.
Render
tournament competition more understandable and exciting to spectators.
